报告摘要:

Two point coherence follows wave equation similar to the optical field and hence referred as ‘coherence waves’. This provides opportunity to synthesize and propagates the complex coherence structures in desired fashion. In this talk, we will discuss several important features of the coherence waves, particularly in the context of desired structuring/analysis, recovery of phase, and their possible applications in areas such as information and fundamental optics. Interference features of the complex coherence functions and their possible applications in imaging will be also discussed. Finally, we extend the coherence wave approach to the vectorial domain and discuss its possible applications in diffraction and imaging.

报告人简介:

Dr. Rakesh Kumar Singh is Associate Professor, Department of Physics at Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST), Trivandrum, India. He is associated with the institute since November 2011. Prior to joining IIST, Dr. Singh worked as JSPS postdoctoral researcher at the University of Electro-Communications, Tokyo, postdoctoral researcher at University of Oulu Finland and visiting researcher at the National University of Ireland, Denmark Technical University, Tel Aviv University, and Huaqiao University Xiamen. Research interests of speaker include singular optics, coherence, holography and polarization optics.
