Abstract: Percolation is a fundamental model in statistical physics dating back to the 1950's.It was derived that percolation is a limiting case of the Potts model, which includes the Ising model. We show that no-enclave percolation clusters studied recently by Sheiman et al. can be mapped to holes in a percolation backbone.The size-distribution exponent for simple holes within a percolation cluster is consistent with Sheinman et al.'s experimental results of gel collapse in a model cytoskeletal system. A discontinuous maximum hole size presents at the critical point, signifying explosive percolation behavior.
